QR Codes?

Today I ventured into the world of QR Codes. 

QR stands for Quick Response. It's a mobile phone readable barcode. 

The Bar Code can hold pretty much any AlphaNumeric Data: 

Website URL, You Tube Video, Twitter Link, Facebook Link, LinkedIn, FourSquare, App Store Download, iTunes Link, Plain Text, SMS, Contact Info, Event Info, PayPal Buy Now Links, Wifi Logins, Etc.

Alice in Wonderland...

Wow! I have a bit of catching up to do...

It's been a hectic summer... In a good way!

A few weeks ago I was able to work on a cake I had been dying to work on for a while. 

An Alice In Wonderland Theme...

I came up with this design... 

 

...and thought, Let the Fun Begin...

I baked 7 cakes in total (5 Red Velvet and 2 Vanilla Rum) 

I made both the Mushroom and the Cheshire Cat of Rice Crispy Treat and started sculpting...

...and covering...

  

 ...and decorating!

I Love Modeling Chocolate. So, I covered the Mushroom and made the Red Queen's skirt of Chocolate. 

Extremely fun to make, and you can totally tell by the gap in the pictures when I started to get into it (Sorry, Inevitable LOL it happens to me all the time)!

Wait till you see the Label on this Cake...

Have I mentioned how much I love making 3D Cakes. 

Well I do... So, naturally I loved this idea.

That is... until I wrecked it...   :(

...and started over. This wasn't totally a bad thing.

The bottom layer of the cake was totally destroyed. 

I had to cut the top layer to match the rest and made the new lid of rice crispy treat. 

 The final product read, 

"Drink 1 Tablet a Day to Calm Nervousness resulting from Caring for Grandkids"

How funny is that!!!  :)

Loving Work...

It's been a little frustrating not having my camera for the past two weeks, but I've made some pretty nifty collages on my iPhone. Hope you all Enjoy the Pics!

Communion Collection

This week was dedicated to First Holy Communions, so I wanted to share some of my designs.

The first of which was for a brother and sister, so the colors had to be neutral. 

So, I chose to go with a Golden Lite Brown.

                

The second cake was for a young boy, the invitation was Blue and White, Simple and Sweet.

 I really wish I would have taken more pictures of this last cake (better lighting would have been nice too). This cake was Coconut Pineapple with Cream Cheese Filling. The design came from the invitation. (note: The first picture was taken before the ribbon was secured.)
